My camp experience

Camp green pastures Kayaking As our group headed down the lake I was getting super excited. We were given a Life jacket, Paddle and we got to choose our very own Kayak to use. As I hopped into my kayak it started to wobble a bit. I don't have a good feeling about this I thought. “Ahh” I screamed as they pushed my kayak out into the water, I started to wobble like crazy. Hopefully I don't fall out. I never been on a kayak only when I was 4 years old I said to the Miss Liddell as I was kayaking. Crash I just ran into another kayak I started wobbling so much. “Thank you” I said as they pushed me away. I paddle away. As I was paddling away I crashed again but this time into a bush I didn't know what to do. So I said to Miss Liddell can you help and she pulled me out she's a hero. Then the hooter rang so I paddled to shore then hopped out of my kayak and went to get changed I was so cold. I hope one day you could and experience what my class has at green pastures ...

Water safety lessons at the lido

Water safety lessons at the lido            This week we were having water safety lessons at the lido. On the first day we went in lanes in the inside pool. We were in groups of 6 and 7. We learnt how to float on our backs and kick with a flutter board covering our feet. That was fun. On the second day of water safety lessons we went in the outside pool and we went in one of the deepest pools in Palmerston North. It was 3.1 metres deep, WOW! It was so hard to swim because we didn't want to sink down into the pool. We did a challenge to see who could touch the bottom. All of my group touched the bottom but we all jumped or swam down. We went there so that we could learn some safety lessons from swimming instructors. It was so fun. Written by Emily Marie Rogers
